Senior Project Manager​/Engineer - Water + Environment Market

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager/Engineer to lead the delivery of complex water and environmental infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. This is a senior client-facing role for an experienced professional who can combine strong technical expertise with commercial awareness, project leadership and a commitment to sustainable outcomes. You will work across multidisciplinary teams, supporting projects involving water resources, treatment, infrastructure, flood risk, drainage, environmental assessment and related civil engineering services.

Your responsibilities will include managing project scope, programme, budgets, risks and quality, while ensuring work is delivered in accordance with applicable standards, regulations and client requirements. You will prepare and review technical reports, specifications, designs, calculations and tender documentation, and provide technical guidance to project teams. The role will also involve coordinating internal and external stakeholders, consultants, contractors and regulatory bodies;

leading meetings and presentations; monitoring project performance; and identifying opportunities to improve delivery. You will contribute to business development by developing client relationships, supporting bids and proposals, preparing fee estimates and helping to grow the water and environment portfolio.

Applicants should hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water engineering or a related discipline, with substantial experience delivering water or environmental projects. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable. You will need a strong understanding of project management principles, relevant legislation, technical standards, health and safety requirements and environmental sustainability. Excellent communication, organisation, problem-solving and decision‑making skills are essential, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and mentor less experienced colleagues.

Experience with design and project management software, contract administration and working within multidisciplinary consultancy or engineering environments would be advantageous.
