Our client is seeking an experienced

Electrical Designer to support the planning, design, and development of utility and infrastructure projects. This individual will work closely with engineering teams to produce high-quality design packages, develop construction drawings, and support projects from initial concept through construction and as-built documentation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented designer who enjoys working on technically challenging projects in a collaborative environment while contributing to critical infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed electrical design and construction drawing packages for utility, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare site layouts, equipment arrangements, plan views, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and material lists.
  • Translate engineering concepts, design criteria, diagrams, specifications, and equipment information into coordinated design documents.
  • Develop equipment layouts and support installation planning while considering safety clearances, maintenance access, constructability, and operational requirements.
  • Assist engineering teams with design development, equipment integration, grounding concepts, cable routing, and related electrical systems.
  • Support both new construction projects and modifications to existing facilities.
  • Coordinate design activities with civil, structural, communications, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Review vendor drawings and technical documentation for incorporation into project deliverables.
  • Maintain drawing packages, revisions, project records, and supporting documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Incorporate design updates, field revisions, and project changes into final record drawings.
  • Perform quality reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Communicate technical issues, design conflicts, schedule concerns, and information gaps to project stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Participate in field visits, design reviews, and construction support activities as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate Degree, Technical Diploma, or equivalent experience in Drafting, Design Technology, Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience preparing electrical design and construction drawings for utility, industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and other design software platforms.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams, technical drawings, specifications, and design markups.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, equipment layouts, drafting standards, and design documentation practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality engineering deliverables.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage revisions, and support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting utility, energy, industrial, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with both new construction and facility upgrade projects.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling platforms such as Autodesk Inventor or similar design software.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, codes, and utility design practices.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design packages.
  • Experience reviewing or mentoring the work of junior designers.
