The Seasonal Event Technician (Level III) is a senior level position within the Entertainment Department that serves in several key and critical areas for all aspects of production for Entertainment, Special Events, and other Guest Programming. The Seasonal Event Technician (Level III) is responsible for cross‑training into and covering multiple daily operation positions including lighting/special effects, audio/visual, cameras and projection, scenic automation and wardrobe.

As a senior member of the team, they will perform these functions with little-to-no supervision. They may also function as a Production Assistant for Shows, Events and other programming as required. Additionally, the Seasonal Event Technician (Level III) will support and/or lead routine maintenance and other special projects related to the ongoing operation of the Entertainment programming, as assigned. The Seasonal Event Technician (Level III) will also serve as a mentor and assist with the training and development of junior staff members.

Production

& Operations
  • Participate in and/or Lead the daily operational control and maintenance of all aspects production departments for the presentations, Special Events, and other Guest Programming.
  • Serve as an assistant venue coordinator/stage manager for Entertainment Presentations, Special Events, and other Guest Programming.
  • Oversee all aspects of daily operation for lighting/electrics, audio/video, cameras/projections, special effects and wardrobe for shows and events and other guest programming.
  • Takes cues and operate GRAND MA and various other lighting consoles and be familiar with basic lighting programming for conventional and moving fixtures.
  • Be familiar with themed, SMPTE controlled shows and events.
  • Operate independently to take or call live action cue sequences.
  • Operate various audio consoles and engineer and mix live and recorded audio and vocals.
  • Operate various Cameras and Video/Media Manipulation consoles for shows and events.
  • Operate scenic automation machinery and console interface to include winch‑based performer flying rigs.
  • Coordinate wardrobe operations as required for shows and events.
  • Support all other production departments as needed/required.
  • Assist with the Venue / House Management as needed which may include opening/closing the house and making calls prior to performances.
  • Participate in and support load‑ins, turn‑a‑rounds and strikes as needed/required.
Maintenance
  • Participate in and/or lead all production activities for maintenance and rehearsals as directed by Entertainment department team leaders.
  • Execute and maintain strict quality control over all the designers’ original design and creative vision/intent for all productions.
  • Maintain and update all lighting, special effects, audio/visual systems, show cueing, playback media, focus, inventories, replenishment of expendables/supplies and inspections.
  • Assist in keeping accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive maintenance records.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or recommend repairs for all technical elements in the theatre, as necessary.
  • Other duties as workload necessitates.
Qualifications
  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in technical production
  • Possess advanced knowledge of all live entertainment, theatrical and special event lighting & audio/visual production and operations.
  • Possess knowledge of the operation software and maintenance of audio engineering, microphones, projection systems, projectors, screen switcher, camera switchers, playback devices, show control systems, communications systems, and training of such. Specifically:
    Digidesign Venue Audio Consoles, Medialon Show Control Systems, Digital Media Servers, Christie Digital Roadster Projectors, Clear‑com Wired, and Wireless Intercom Systems, Standard and Submersible RF Microphone Systems
  • Experience in the use of digital testing equipment to perform maintenance and repairs on audio/visual systems and equipment, as well as automated/ intelligent lighting fixtures and consoles.
  • Field experience with repairs and troubleshooting of all audio/visual equipment.
