The Financial Analyst will support the CFO and senior leadership by building, maintaining, and improving a portfolio of financial, operational, and sales reports that monitor company performance and key business drivers. This role is highly analytical and hands-on, with direct exposure to operations and leadership.
The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience in finance or accounting and is eager to move beyond transactional reporting into analysis, insight generation, and data integrity improvement. This role will play a key part in ensuring leadership has accurate, timely, and meaningful information to drive decisions in a fast-growing environment.
This role supports the monthly financial close, management reporting, and annual budgeting processes. The Financial Analyst will develop and maintain routine weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPI reporting, analyze results, identify trends and variances, and help uncover and resolve underlying data issues.
The position works cross-functionally with operations, sales, IT, and accounting to understand workflows, validate data, and improve the reliability and usefulness of reporting. POSITIONRESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
The responsibilities below reflect the core duties of this role and are not exhaustive.
- Assist the CFO in preparing timely and accurate monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis versus budget and prior periods.
- Build and maintain a library of recurring management reports and KPIs, including:
- Margin and profitability analysis
- Product-, customer-, and job-level performance
- Work-in-progress (WIP) and backlog reporting
- Labor utilization and productivity metrics
- Inventory and sales trend analysis
- Support preparation of reporting materials for senior leadership and executive reviews.
- Analyze financial, sales, and operational data to identify performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide clear explanations of variances and trends, translating data into actionable insights.
- Support scenario analysis and financial outlooks related to growth, pricing, cost structure, and operational efficiency.
- Review source data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems and reports.
- Assist in identifying potential data integrity issues related to billing, purchasing, inventory, labor, WIP, and sales data.
- Partner with accounting, operations, and sales to trace issues to root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in improving and standardizing reporting definitions, assumptions, and calculation logic.
- Support process improvements that enhance data reliability and reporting efficiency.
- Assist the CFO with the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
- Help maintain budget models and perform variance analysis throughout the year.
- Support month-end closing activities as needed to help achieve a five-day close.
- Respond to audit requests and support the accounting team with schedules and analyses as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer or executive leadership of TSi.
A. EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Two to three (2–3) years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Experience in a job shop, manufacturing, or operations-heavy environment preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas;
Power Query experience is a plus. - Experience preparing management reports and KPI analyses.
- Exposure to ERP systems is required;
Net Suite experience preferred. - Exposure to OLAP and/or supporting tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Alteryx) is a plus.
- Experience using AI and large language model (LLM) tools to maximize effectiveness.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work comfortably with large, imperfect data sets.
- Detail-oriented with a healthy skepticism for data accuracy.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-finance partners.
- Curious mindset with an interest in understanding how the business operates.
- Ability to balance routine reporting with ad hoc analysis in a growing environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a clean driving record satisfactory to TSi’s automobile insurance carrier.
