Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are seeking a high caliber Investment Operations Associate to join our small, highly collaborative operations team. This role is critical to daily investment operations and will serve as a key member of the group as we prepare for a leadership transition due to an upcoming retirement.

The ideal candidate brings strong back-office operations experience, exceptional attention to detail, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a strong work ethic. This is a hands‑on operations role requiring someone who is proactive, coachable, and able to step into a high responsibility seat from day one.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Trade Support & Settlement
  • Execute and monitor T+1 settlements across domestic and foreign markets.
  • Support trade processing, reconciliation, and exception resolution.
  • Oversee foreign trading workflows and ensure timely processing across global time zones.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external parties (custodian, brokers, counter parties) to resolve trade breaks.
  • Work closely with Chase (custodian) to coordinate movements, collateral, and loan activity.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of lending transactions and compliance requirements.
Operational Controls & Compliance
  • Maintain the firm’s book of record, ensuring accuracy independent of the bank’s systems.
  • Support compliance oversight, operational risk controls, and audit preparedness.
  • Perform daily reconciliations and identify discrepancies across systems.
Data, Reporting & Accounting Coordination
  • Partner effectively with the internal accounting department for data flow, reporting, and financial accuracy.
  • Ensure that data movements and securities flow through the system correctly and consistently.
Issue Resolution & Problem Solving
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues with urgency and accuracy.
  • Escalate risks appropriately while maintaining ownership of problem-solving.
  • Work late as needed when issues arise, particularly in foreign markets or settlement cycles.
THE CANDIDATE Required Experience & Skills
  • Strong investment operations background
—trade support, settlements, securities lending, reconciliation, or similar.
  • Experience working within a brokerage, asset manager, custodian, or institutional operations team preferred.
  • Deep understanding of how securities move through the system, including lifecycle processing.
  • Exposure to both domestic and international markets; familiarity with T+1 workflow.
  • Proven ability to work in high volume, detail-oriented environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take constructive feedback and continuously improve.
Work Style & Cultural Fit

This is a highly team-oriented, in office role. Success requires:

  • Reliable early‑morning availability (operations is always first in).
  • Resilient personality and the ability to handle constructive criticism professionally.
  • Self‑starter mentality
—someone who proactively asks questions and seeks to learn our unique workflows.
  • Collaborative mindset; the team double checks each other’s work regularly.
  • Adaptability in an open‑floor, bullpen‑style environment
    .
  • Strong work ethic, accountability, and willingness to stay late if operational issues arise.
  • Coachability and openness to feedback.
  • Not being on‑site is not an option—this is a fully in‑office role supporting real‑time operations.
Ideal Candidate Profile

You are someone who:

  • Thrives in a structured, time‑sensitive operational environment.
  • Enjoys working with a small, highly engaged team.
  • Learns quickly and is not afraid to ask questions.
  • Is extremely detail-oriented and process focused.
  • Has a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Wants to build a long‑term career in investment operations.
