Location: 1 National Dr SW, Atlanta, GA 30336

Position Status: Contract to Hire | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $18/hr

Position Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cash Application Clerk to manage and reconcile accounts receivable and remittance processing in a high-volume financial environment. This role ensures payments are accurately applied to customer accounts, resolves payment discrepancies, and supports cross-functional teams with timely financial insights. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working onsite, maintaining strict attendance standards while collaborating with internal teams and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately post cash receipts to customer accounts and ensure payments are applied at the invoice level.
  • Manage small balance adjustments, unapplied cash, and unidentified cash to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts to bank deposits and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Contact customers for missing remittance information to ensure timely and accurate payment application.
  • Apply credits and invoices, including zero-balance or adjustment batches, while maintaining compliance with company financial policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, drivers, research specialists) to investigate and resolve payment-related questions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on cash application processes and support internal audits.
  • Prepare reports and maintain detailed documentation for internal, external, and regulatory compliance reviews.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in cash application operations.
Required Skills / Education
  • Education: High school diploma required;
    Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of related experience required; 3+ years preferred in cash application, accounts receivable, or financial operations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills, including basic algebra, percentages, and reconciliation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface professionally with customers, managers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Technical proficiency with accounting software (Oracle AR preferred), spreadsheet tools (Microsoft Excel), and other financial systems (9ci, Salesforce, CCAAS, Experian, Fintech, Icontol, banking software).
  • NACM certification preferred.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow general business procedures, regulations, and technical documentation.
