Description:

** The Revenue Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely recognition of revenue in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. This role involves analyzing contracts, sales agreements, and financial transactions to determine the appropriate timing and method of revenue recognition. The Revenue Accounting Specialist works closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, and legal, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to support financial reporting accuracy.

** Responsibilities:*
* * Review and analyze contracts, sales orders, and other revenue-generating transactions to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
* Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements related to revenue recognition.
* Document revenue recognition policies and procedures and ensure adherence across the organization.
* Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports and reconciliations.
* Analyze revenue trends, variances, and fluctuations to identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures related to revenue recognition for internal and external reporting purposes.
* Collaborate with sales, finance, legal, and other departments to resolve revenue recognition issues and ensure alignment on contract terms and conditions.
* Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on revenue recognition policies and procedures.
* Support internal and external audits related to revenue recognition and financial reporting.
* Identify opportunities to streamline and improve revenue accounting processes and controls.
* Implement best practices and automation tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue recognition.
