GHJ Search and Staffing serves as the recruitment division of GHJ, a prominent national accounting and advisory firm. Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. GHJ’s relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand client’s needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.

An industrial real estate development and acquisition firm is seeking a Controller to lead their accounting operations. The Controller will report to the CFO and will oversee a 5+ person accounting team managing full‑cycle accounting for a multi‑entity, multi‑state portfolio.

• Lead all accounting operations including month‑end close, financial reporting, consolidations, and internal controls
• Oversee GAAP compliance including revenue recognition and lease accounting standards
• Direct annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors, internal auditors, and tax advisors
• Manage quarterly consolidation reporting to parent company and recurring cash reporting requirements
• Supervise and develop the accounting team
• Review trial balances, income statements, budget variances, AP/AR, and bank reconciliations
• Oversee development and construction accounting including loan draws and cost projections
• Monitor deferred rent schedules, depreciation/amortization, aged receivables, and JV reporting packages
• Manage multiple bank accounts, cash balances, equity requests, and integrated payables processes
• Oversee entity setup/dissolution and acquisition/disposition pr orations
• Own and optimize Yardi

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred
• 10+ years progressive accounting experience with required real estate background
• Strong GAAP knowledge and internal controls experience
• Prior team leadership experience
• Yardi experience highly preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills

$160,000 - $170,000 a year
