What You Will Do:We are hiring a credentialed actuary for a role as Director of Actuarial Consulting based in Atlanta, Georgia. Guidehouse helps public state and Federal Medicaid agencies, and Commercial providers analyze and forecast the costs for their healthcare programs.
- Lead a team of actuaries, and actuarial data experts supporting large state complex capitation rate-setting and other actuarial projects
- Be a leader mentoring other actuaries within our Guidehouse team, helping them grow in their careers.
- Help develop new actuarial business opportunities as we continue to grow our business, including be an actuarial subject matter expert for assisting with proposals and developing project scopes of work to expand our business.
- Define and manage client scopes of work, serve to develop rate structures and methodologies, and provide oversight for compliance with federal regulations and actuarial standards
- Oversee the development of rate-setting assumptions built into actuarial models, and provide on‑going review and guidance throughout the rate setting process
- Work directly with other Guidehouse leaders and clients on challenges facing their programs, and with health policy consultants to design solutions
- Build project communications, including for the presentation of rate certification letters and rate books, including signing rate certification letters
- Work with project leaders to identify business growth opportunities.
- BA/BS degree (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)
- 10+ years minimum health actuarial experience, with 5+ years of Medicaid actuarial experience
- Actuarial credentials (ASA or FSA, and/or MAAA)
- Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and complex projects
- Medicaid actuarial consulting experience spanning various state programs, health insurers, and/or Federal agencies
- Demonstrated capabilities for client and project management in a demanding work environment
