Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Industry: Property Management (Multifamily Residential)

Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)

Position Overview

The HT Group has partnered with a growing, private‑equity‑backed multi‑family real estate platform based in Atlanta in the search for an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for an immediate need. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for building a scalable finance function, supporting mergers and acquisitions, and driving financial strategy to enable continued growth and value creation.

This role partners closely with the CEO and investors and plays a critical role in shaping the company’s long‑term success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, providing financial insights to support growth, capital allocation, and value creation initiatives.
  • Participate in board meetings, strategic planning, and key business initiatives.
  • Build and lead a best‑in‑class finance organization, including systems, processes, and team development.
  • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to growth, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Lead annual budgeting and long‑range strategic planning processes.
  • Develop and maintain rolling forecasts, including the impact of acquisitions and integrations.
  • Oversee monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis, reforecasting, and executive‑level presentations.
  • Ensure high‑quality financial reporting across multiple operating units or locations.
  • Support due diligence and financial analysis of acquisition targets.
  • Lead post‑acquisition integration efforts, including financial systems, reporting, controls, and processes.
  • Identify operational efficiencies and synergies across the platform.
  • Oversee treasury, cash flow management, insurance, payroll, audit, tax, compliance, and risk management functions.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, lenders, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
  • Lead annual audit and tax processes in coordination with external firms.
  • Oversee financial infrastructure to support scalability and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including CFO or senior finance roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (CPA and/or MBA preferred).
  • Proven experience with mergers and acquisitions, including integration execution.
  • Experience in private‑equity‑backed environments, particularly with acquisitive or roll‑up strategies required.
  • Background in property management, real estate, or multi‑location service‑based businesses strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
