Job SummaryThe Senior Manager, Cost Accounting will lead and develop a team of four while owning key areas including inventory costing, intercompany and transfer price accounting, and the month‑end close. This leader will collaborate closely with operations, sourcing, engineering, accounting, and FP&A to drive financial insights, support business initiatives, and continuously enhance reporting accuracy and processes.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)- Manage and develop a talented team of cost accountants, performing quarterly performance management discussions, tracking goals & KPIs, and driving project results.
- Provide support to direct reports to fully understand their tasks and impact to the organization.
- Lead month/quarter/year‑end close processes, reviewing and approving journal entries and reconciliations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and GAAP compliance.
- Lead quarterly internal control reviews and external audits, providing supporting documentation, schedules, and analyses.
- Manage monthly and quarterly reporting around inventory variances, capitalization, and other balance sheet and income statement adjustments.
- Manage and monitor intercompany and transfer price accounting.
- Support finance audits on annual physical inventories.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Finance leaders to drive inventory and COGS reporting accuracy.
- Identify costing and inventory improvement initiatives and work with stakeholders to execute on opportunities.
- Champion internal process improvements and oversee initiatives to ensure execution aligned with company strategies.
- Manage inventory costing and ensure accuracy of raw materials, work‑in‑process, finished‑goods values, and various inventory reserves.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting; MBA/CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience in the manufacturing industry, focused on cost accounting and management (7+ years preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls (SOX).
- Strong leadership skills and dedication to delivering results.
- Proven advanced technical skills in Excel, Power BI, Oracle, and One Stream.
- Willingness to travel up to 15%.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain project integrity.
- Collaboration skills and customer‑focused mindset working across multiple teams.
- Analytical skills to structure and process qualitative and quantitative data.
- Problem‑solving skills, performing root‑cause and countermeasure analysis.

The base salary range is $104,200 to $160,000, varying by experience and geographic location. Acuity offers generous benefits including health, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) plan; and commission/incentive compensation that may apply to this role.
