CFO

A leading publicly traded financial services organization is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to shape and execute enterprise financial strategy across a diversified, regulated platform.

This role goes beyond traditional finance leadership serving as a key architect of long-term value creation, capital strategy, and financial transparency. The CFO will operate as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board, playing a central role in aligning financial performance, risk management, and strategic growth initiatives within a complex, multi-entity environment.

• Define and lead enterprise-wide financial strategy across a multi-entity platform
• Drive alignment of GAAP and statutory frameworks to support transparent, decision-useful financial reporting
• Oversee regulatory engagement, capital adequacy, and enterprise risk considerations in a highly regulated environment
• Own the company's external financial narrative, including SEC reporting and investor transparency
• Partner with actuarial leadership to inform critical decisions around reserves, assumptions, and long-term profitability
• Lead capital allocation strategy, including investments, liquidity, and balance sheet optimization
• Strengthen governance, internal controls, and financial infrastructure to support scalability and regulatory rigor
• Provide executive leadership over complex accounting areas, including long-duration contract accounting (LDTI / ASU 2018-12)
• Ensure disciplined governance around modeling, assumptions, and financial methodologies influencing earnings and equity
• Translate technical accounting and financial dynamics into clear, strategic insights for executive leadership and the Board

• Proven executive finance leadership experience within insurance industry
• Deep expertise in regulatory environments, statutory accounting, and capital management
• Experience working at publicly traded company working with SEC filings
• Experience navigating LDTI (ASU 2018-12) or comparable complex accounting frameworks preferred
• Active CPA required
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence at the Board and regulator level
• Public accounting experience is a plus

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certification requirements; office location and other geographic considerations; and other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco/Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
