We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Tax Specialist to manage and optimize our company’s tax affairs. This role is critical in ensuring full regulatory compliance, accurate tax reporting, and identifying opportunities to strengthen the company’s overall tax position. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical tax knowledge with a proactive approach to tax planning and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities Tax Recording & Compliance- Calculate tax liabilities and prepare accurate tax forms for timely external filing and reporting.
- Record and maintain tax-specific transactions, including tax journals, capital expenditure tracking, and tax depreciation schedules.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all existing, proposed, and newly enacted tax regulations.
- Prepare and submit all required tax returns, declarations, and supporting reports on time with a high degree of accuracy.
- Conduct in-depth research to evaluate the tax impact of business activities and changing regulations.
- Identify tax optimization opportunities and recommend strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maintaining compliance.
- Analyze the tax implications of proposed transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and asset disposals.
- Partner with external tax consultants, advisors, and government agencies to resolve complex tax matters.
- Stay current on evolving tax legislation and work closely with external experts to implement best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of relevant tax experience (corporate tax, public accounting, or industry).
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred (or strong progress toward certification).
- Solid understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Experience with tax research tools, depreciation schedules, and tax provision processes.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/tax software.
