Senior Investment Associate Overview

The Senior Investment Associate supports one or more Portfolio Managers in delivering exceptional service to high-net-worth investment management clients. This role combines investment support, client service, and operational execution, with increasing responsibility in portfolio oversight and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Portfolio Managers in all aspects of portfolio management and client servicing
  • Prepare and proof client presentation materials and meeting deliverables
  • Ensure all materials and reports are ready for client review meetings
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with strong attention to detail
  • Conduct investment research and assist in developing portfolio recommendations
  • Track trade activity from entry through execution and settlement
  • Run reports and analyze data using internal systems (EDS, PIMS, IMS, PAS, GDWM)
  • Maintain complete and timely recordkeeping to meet compliance standards
  • Coordinate and support monthly Regulatory and New Account Review processes
  • Identify and mitigate operational and client service risks
  • Set up and maintain client account files and documentation
  • Process client transactions, including cash transfers, fund trades, and securities movements
  • Handle physical stock and bond certificates and DTC transfers
  • Respond to client inquiries and support transaction requests
  • Ensure Portfolio Managers follow up on client requests in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with internal partners including tax and operations teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Review and validate fee calculations
  • Communicate regularly with clients, Portfolio Managers, and internal partners
  • Proactively identify ways to improve processes and support advisors
  • Begin contributing to client meetings and discussions
  • Demonstrate mastery of internal tools (including GDWM) and present outputs in meetings
  • Provide guidance to junior team members as appropriate
Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of investment products, portfolio construction concepts, and wealth management services
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions in support of client and portfolio needs
  • Strong commitment to risk management, with consistent adherence to investment guidelines, compliance standards, and operational controls
  • Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solution skills, with the ability to synthesize information and form recommendations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-pace, deadline-driven environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred
  • 1–3+ years of experience in investment management, wealth management, or financial services, with increasing responsibility
  • Progress toward or interest in CFA or CFP certification strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with investment and portfolio management systems
  • Passion for investing and long-term career development in portfolio management

Salary Range: $70,490 – 119,890 USD (base pay estimate).
