Director, Commercial Mortgage Originator

Location Designation: Hybrid - 4 days per week

• Excellent analytical, quantitative and technical skills, including the ability to analyze, underwrite and forecast property cash flows and valuations using Argus and Excel software.
• The ability to size and price loans with proper structural features and negotiate term sheets and loan commitments.
• Successful track record and experience in commercial mortgage loan origination, due diligence, and loan closing/negotiation processes.
• Team player who is organized, efficient, proactive, conscientious and assumes accountability and responsibility for specific performance and work product.
• Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and marketing skills. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Creative problem-solver with strong research skills.
• The ability to gather, analyze, and interpret real estate market data/trends and financial information. The ability to independently and proactively interact with, and gather data from borrowers, brokers, property managers, appraisers, attorneys, and other real estate professionals.
• The ability to multi-task and effectively respond to changes in workflow, priorities and workload in a team environment.
• Knowledge of Southeast real estate markets and commercial properties including, but not limited to, industrial, retail, multi-family, office, and hotels is a plus.
• Construction lending and/or structured lending experience desired.

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
• 7 to 10 years of experience as a commercial mortgage underwriter or originator.
• Experience preferably with a major financial institution or mortgage brokerage company.
• Proven track record in commercial mortgage loan originations.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to work well in a team setting.
• Industry recognized designations such as CCIM or CFA, or progress toward one, is a plus.
• Travel in this role is required.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $210,000

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Employees may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and participate in an incentive program.
