Our client is seeking a Head of Project Finance to lead project and portfolio-level financing, developer engagement, credit underwriting and investor-ready asset structuring across a growing distributed energy pipeline.
This is a key platform-building role for someone who can bridge renewable energy project finance, developer-side execution and structured capital markets.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead financing processes for distributed energy assets, including solar, storage and EV charging projects.
Structure and negotiate project debt, tax equity, sponsor equity, warehouse facilities, tax credit transfers, refinancing and asset-backed financing solutions.
Manage developer relationships, project documentation, due diligence and financing readiness across the pipeline.
Assess project-level credit quality, including developer strength, contracted cash flows, customer/offtaker profile, collateral, documentation completeness and overall financing suitability.
Coordinate with legal, technical, tax, insurance, credit, KYC/AML and compliance advisors.
Support portfolio-level financing strategies, including securitization, asset-backed structures, refinancing and asset sales.
Work closely with capital formation and investor-facing teams to translate project-level credit risk into a clear investment narrative.
Build a repeatable framework for qualifying developers, underwriting assets and preparing projects for institutional capital.
10+ years of experience in project finance, structured finance, capital markets, private credit or renewable energy finance.
Strong exposure to distributed energy assets, ideally residential solar, community solar, C&I solar, solar + storage, EV charging or broader distributed generation.
Proven track record closing project-level or portfolio-level financing transactions.
Strong understanding of tax equity, project debt, partnership flips, sale-leasebacks, tax credit transfers, warehouse facilities, non-recourse debt, securitization or asset-backed lending.
Experience working with developers, lenders, tax equity investors, infrastructure funds, private credit providers, advisors and institutional investors.
Comfortable working in an early-stage, high-growth platform environment.
