The Director of Loan Management will oversee a diversified portfolio of intricate debt investments, secured by various types of commercial real estate. This client-facing position includes the management of complex debt instruments, coordination with various internal teams to oversee debt service collection and waterfall management, tax and insurance monitoring, and client reporting. The assets under management will include a mix of transitional or value‑added properties across major U.S. markets.
These properties span across different sectors such as office, retail, industrial, multifamily, condominium, student housing, and hospitality assets.
- Interpret complex loan agreements to accurately apply loan terms in asset management activities.
- Work closely with various internal teams to streamline asset servicing and ensure precise and prompt reporting.
- Facilitate the funding process in collaboration with lenders, their syndicates, co‑lenders, and note‑on‑note financiers.
- Employ a range of software and applications to manage and monitor data related to properties, borrowers, and asset performance.
- Evaluate proposed cash management distributions to ensure accurate application according to cash flow waterfalls.
- Coordinate with the tax and insurance teams to oversee insurance coverage, tax payments, and escrow requirements.
- Approve annual operating and capital budgets.
- Mentor loan analysts, fostering their professional development and enhancing their skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate or related discipline required.
- 7+ years of experience in asset-based finance or structured credit with an asset management firm, private equity firm, lender, owner/operator, servicer, rating agency, investment bank or broker is preferred.
- Managerial experience providing oversight, quality assurance and mentorship is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrable experience in analyzing quantitative and qualitative research.
- Excellent in clear and effective communication with the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a strong drive to excel in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while effectively managing competing deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Advanced skills in Excel.
