Health Actuary – Analyst III
Location:
Richmond, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Tampa, Hartford, Louisville, Nashville, or New York City.
- Manage client projects focused on employers’ health benefits strategies, including financial projections, carrier selection, plan design optimization, employee contribution setting, IBNP valuations, benchmarking, well‑being initiatives, and renewal negotiations.
- Create client deliverables, provide direction to junior analysts, serve as a financial client contact, and present deliverables to clients in partnership with senior members of client teams.
- Base salary range: $73,500 – $147,000, determined by experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and applicable minimum wage requirements.
- Eligible for performance‑based incentives.
- Comprehensive total rewards package including health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401(k) savings, retirement programs, and employee assistance programs.
- 2–5 years of relevant work experience in consulting, insurance, finance, human resources, or accounting.
- BA/BS degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, economics, or related field.
- Two or more actuarial exams passed preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills and experience in data analysis or financial modeling.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proven project management skills and creative problem‑solving abilities.
- Work experience in actuarial consulting, especially within healthcare.
- One or two exams away from earning ASA designation.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Experience presenting technical concepts to a non‑technical audience.
