Summary
The Practice Group Analyst works in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives, providing support to maximize results and increase the financial performance of the firm and its practice groups. Duties include financial analysis, management reporting, and project coordination. Supports the Practice Group Directors in overseeing critical business processes and manages multiple projects and initiatives.
LocationThis position can sit in any of the following offices:
Reston, Short Hills, New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Baltimore, Atlanta, Raleigh, Boston, Wilmington, Miami, Minneapolis, or Chicago. Offers a hybrid work schedule.
- Provides technical expertise in developing financial reports and summaries, creating and maintaining spreadsheets and analysis, and preparing presentations.
- Creates reports and analyses that highlight the financial performance of the practice group related to budgets, production, fees and revenue.
- Analyzes and communicates financial topics to internal stakeholders (attorneys, other staff departments) and international colleagues, including current and forecasted activity at the matter and client level.
- Conducts thorough research and data collection to fulfill assignments, leveraging firm tools and databases.
- Coordinates projects and implements best practices in project management.
- Compiles and analyzes progress reports and follows up with lawyers on matter plans requiring modification or communication with clients.
- Works on special projects in support of the Firm’s strategic initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including vLookup and Pivot Table functions. Preferred experience with PowerBI and previous experience in a law firm or other professional services firm. Proficient in summarizing and deriving answers from large data sets.
Minimum Education- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or related field.
- 3 years’ experience in financial analysis, marketing, accounting, or similar work.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
- Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently.
- Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product.
- Successfully meet deadlines and perform work duties as required.
- Foster positive work relationships.
- Comply with all firm policies and practices.
- Engage in both physical and sedentary activity as needed.
- Work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast‑paced environment.
- Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Physical DemandsSedentary work: exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or negligible force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Some walking and standing may be required occasionally.
Work EnvironmentThe selected individual may work in a hybrid arrangement of remote and in‑office work. Requirements may be modified in the firm’s discretion.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $71,743 - $109,321 per year, depending on geographic location. Compensation will also depend on experience, skills, education, and qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, and a 401(k).
