We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to lead the firm's financial operations, reporting, planning, and long‑term financial strategy. This role serves as a key business partner to executive leadership and plays a critical role in supporting profitability, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.

Position Summary

The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm's financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, accounting operations, treasury management, payroll oversight, tax compliance, audit coordination, and internal controls. This individual will lead the Finance Department while partnering closely with executive leadership to provide strategic financial guidance and support business decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and major business decisions
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Develop financial models to support growth initiatives and investments
  • Provide executive‑level financial reporting and analysis
  • Support quarterly and annual business planning initiatives
Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations
  • Own the month‑end close process, including reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis
  • Prepare accurate GAAP‑compliant financial statements
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts
  • Oversee daily accounting operations and reporting functions
  • Manage trust accounting and settlement disbursement processes
Treasury & Cash Management
  • Maintain rolling cash flow forecasts
  • Manage banking relationships and treasury operations
  • Oversee payment controls and approval workflows
  • Monitor reserve accounts and cash management activities
Payroll, Tax & Compliance
  • Oversee payroll administration through ADP
  • Coordinate with HR regarding compensation, benefits, and payroll changes
  • Manage tax compliance, audits, and external CPA relationships
  • Ensure timely filing of required tax and regulatory documentation
  • Lead and develop the Finance Department
  • Establish KPIs, goals, and performance expectations
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
  • Design and maintain strong financial controls
  • Develop and maintain finance‑related SOPs
  • Lead ERP and financial system enhancement initiatives
  • Drive automation and process improvement efforts
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 8–12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Prior Controller, Director of Finance, or senior finance leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience leading month‑end close processes
  • Experience managing accounting and finance teams
  • Strong treasury, cash management, and forecasting experience
  • Experience with payroll systems, preferably ADP
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
Preferred
  • Active CPA license
  • MBA or advanced business degree
  • Law firm, professional services, or multi‑entity organization experience
  • Experience with trust accounting and settlement disbursements
  • Sage ERP experience
