Job Title

Responsible for oversight and administration of Truist Community Capital's (TCC) equity investment portfolio, managed through partnerships with real estate developers and syndicators. Focus areas may include Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC), Small Business Investment Companies (SBIC), and other Public Welfare Investments (PWI) — all of which drive critical CRA results, provide banking solutions for developer clients, and economically revitalize communities across the Truist footprint through affordable housing, job creation/preservation, and expanded goods and services in underserved areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Manage ongoing reporting on TCC's investment portfolio, including portfolio exposures, asset management monitoring, regulatory reporting, community impact, and CRA metrics.
  • Partner with TCC Asset Managers on portfolio monitoring activities — past due reporting, external equity confirmations, legal/regulatory reporting, and document management.
  • Administer software databases supporting the investment portfolio; drive efficiencies by project managing system enhancements, serving as subject-matter expert, and performing cross-system reconciliations.
  • Serve as service manager for TCC's third-party vendors, including risk management, contract renewal negotiations, invoicing, and service requests.
  • Monitor the condition and performance of a moderately complex portfolio to ensure compliance with Bank credit terms, external stakeholder requirements, and IRS regulations — including detailed review of operating budgets, audited financial statements, and partnership tax returns.
  • Prepare risk ratings and recommend strategies to the Asset Management Team Lead and Risk Officer for investments requiring additional oversight.
  • Perform in-person property inspections to assess physical condition and ongoing compliance; lead special portfolio projects as needed.
  • Serve as liaison between TCC and internal partners — Credit Risk, Portfolio Management, Relationship Managers, Tax, Accounting, Operations — as well as external clients (developers, syndicators, property management companies).
  • Promote sound risk management as first line of defense by ensuring compliance with Bank credit, underwriting, operational, regulatory, tax, and legal policies.
  • Manage the condition and performance of Truist Community Capital's investments to ensure ongoing compliance with Bank credit terms, external stakeholder and IRS requirements. The assigned portfolio is typically comprised of moderately complex investments and portfolio exposures.
  • Monitor regular financial and operational reporting on the performance of investments, while working directly with partners to resolve concerns. This involves detailed review and analysis of operating budgets, audited financial statements, and partnership tax returns.
  • Prepare risk ratings on investments, while communicating and making recommendations to the Asset Management Team Lead and Risk Officer on strategies to address projects requiring additional oversight
  • Perform in-person property inspections to assess physical condition and ongoing compliance
  • Lead special projects in support of the investment portfolio as needed.
