Underwriting Analyst - Proprietary Lending Program

The Underwriter Analyst PLG is responsible for analyzing and underwriting potential credit risk for Proprietary Lending Program (PLG) deals at the principal, property, market, and loan levels for multifamily and commercial deals, focusing on sizing and underwriting as assigned. If the application is accepted, the analyst collaborates with third‑party vendors to complete reports and works with mortgage bankers to finalize bridge financing.
Responsibilities- Complete or send due diligence materials to GPO to populate the PLG templates and respond to inquiries from the MBs or GPOs.
- Analyze and review borrower credit information, third‑party reports, and property financial and physical data to assess deal viability.
- Conduct site inspections to evaluate the market competitiveness of proposed collateral and determine the economic feasibility of projected income streams.
- Prepare underwriting narratives and independent cash flow value estimates for large, complex multifamily transactions.
- Present recommendations and key documentation (term sheets, applications, commitments, credit memos, etc.) to the Senior Underwriters and appropriate approval committees.
- Maintain consistent communication with the company's Senior Directors and, as requested, with the mortgage banking network, managing borrower clients through the approval and closing processes.
- Collaborate with loan officers, loan closers, and legal counsel to advance loan requests through approval and closing, as directed by the Senior Directors/SVPs Credit.
- Conduct and participate in customer meetings, site inspections, and conference calls as directed by the Senior Directors/SVPs Credit.
- Possess detailed knowledge of CRE and multifamily underwriting, including cash flow forecasting and experience in reviewing and approving engineering and environmental reports, zoning reports, and appraisals.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.
- Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in Salesforce and SharePoint.
- In‑depth knowledge of commercial real‑estate underwriting, including cash flow forecasting and pricing metrics.
- Experience in reviewing and approving engineering and environmental reports, zoning reports, and appraisals.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and efficiently manage assignments to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 0-3 years of experience in a similar position.
