Financial Administrator – Atlanta, GA (Full‑Time, Regular)
Job SummaryThe Financial Administrator assists with financial operations of a department or unit, advising on financial policies, ensuring accounting practices comply with Institute guidelines, and supporting the preparation of budgets and financial reports.
Responsibilities- Prepare financial data for proposals, grants, contracts, appropriations, endowments and other funds.
- Compile data for budget amendments and related reporting.
- Oversee student accounting functions, coordinate with Financial Aid and Registrar's Office, and resolve student payment issues.
- Monitor non‑student receivable accounts; perform direct billing, payment processing, answer customer queries, and ensure timely reconciliations.
- Monitor gift and endowment accounts for compliance, manage overdrafts, and post scholarship awards.
- Monitor unit budgets for overdrafts, review compliance with budget regulations, grant requirements, and prepare budget amendments for new accounts.
- Ensure timely reconciliations for ledger and clearing accounts and perform necessary adjustments.
- Coordinate cash management activities (deposits, reconciliations, cash and credit card control) and work with Financial Reporting on banking discrepancies.
- Review and approve human‑resource actions, assist with position management, oversee payroll processing, prepare advances when required, and meet administrative deadlines.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices in a university business environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, and proficiency with office and accounting software applications.
- Salary range: $47,872.00 – $69,098.00.
- Location:
Atlanta, GA. - Job grade: G05.
