Senior Portfolio Manager, Middle Market C&I –Atlanta, GA
Fin Trust Connect has partnered with a well-capitalized regional banking institution to identify top talent for a Senior Portfolio Manager, Middle Market C&I opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced commercial credit professional who has deep expertise underwriting middle market Commercial & Industrial clients, structuring complex cash flow-based credit facilities, and proactively managing portfolio risk while serving as a trusted partner to Relationship Managers.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
- Minimum 5 years of commercial banking, commercial credit, or portfolio management experience supporting Middle Market C&I clients; 10+ years preferred
- Strong experience underwriting cash flow-based and asset-based Commercial & Industrial lending transactions
- Demonstrated knowledge of revolving lines of credit, working capital facilities, equipment financing, acquisition financing, and term loan structures
- Experience analyzing company financial statements, global cash flow, borrowing base reporting, collateral, guarantor strength, and repayment capacity
- Strong understanding of leverage, liquidity, debt service coverage, covenant compliance, and commercial risk rating methodologies
- Experience preparing detailed credit approval memoranda and presenting recommendations to credit leadership
- Working knowledge of loan documentation, financial covenants, collateral perfection, and ongoing reporting requirements
- Ability to identify emerging portfolio risks, industry trends, policy exceptions, and deteriorating borrower performance
- Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
Description:
- Manage the underwriting, approval, and ongoing portfolio management of Middle Market Commercial & Industrial lending relationships.
- Analyze borrower financial performance, cash flow generation, liquidity, leverage, collateral, industry trends, and repayment capacity to support sound credit decisions.
- Structure revolving lines of credit, working capital facilities, equipment loans, term debt, acquisition financing, and other C&I credit solutions appropriate to borrower needs.
- Evaluate borrowing base reports, accounts receivable, inventory, collateral coverage, and guarantor support when applicable.
- Recommend appropriate loan structures, advance rates, covenants, pricing, amortization, and risk ratings consistent with credit policy.
- Prepare comprehensive credit approval memoranda, annual reviews, renewals, amendments, and commitment documentation.
- Monitor portfolio performance for signs of financial deterioration, covenant breaches, industry-specific risks, and emerging credit concerns.
- Partner closely with Middle Market Relationship Managers to evaluate new opportunities, retain existing relationships, and deliver responsive credit solutions.
- Participate in client meetings to discuss financial performance, due diligence requirements, transaction structures, and ongoing credit needs.
- Coordinate with Credit Administration, Loan Operations, Legal, and other internal stakeholders throughout the underwriting and closing process.
- Identify policy exceptions and clearly communicate associated risks and mitigating factors to credit leadership.
- Maintain direct communication with borrowers during underwriting, portfolio reviews, renewals, and ongoing servicing activities.
- Reports to senior Credit or Portfolio leadership and operates as an individual contributor with no direct supervisory responsibilities.
