Mercedes Benz Assignment Services Americas (MBASA) is a Shared Service Global Organization in the Americas region for the management of expatriate programs across all entities. MBASA is a part of Mercedes-Benz North America Corporation and the People Solutions Center.
The Global Payroll Specialist – Global Reporting and Banking is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and effective presentation of payroll processing information for Mercedes-Benz Assignment Services Americas (MBASA). This role also has sole responsibility for banking activities related to EURO payout processes.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to generate accurately and timely the regular domestic and global payroll reporting requirements. End-to-end process delivery (e.g. from payroll registers to general ledger and payroll output files) to the various stakeholders; domestically including Accounting, Tax, Benefits, Treasury and overseas to the Global Payroll Management team and Global Payroll Provider.
- Responsible to run reporting corrections (i.e. Supplemental GL, Payroll output file corrections process for the external global payroll provider, etc.) as identified or required by the different stakeholders.
- Provide response to variance reports received from EY/Deloitte, as part of the global payroll control activities
- Responsible to provide responses to any white spot tracker query from EY/Deloitte.
- Review and perform the timely approval of the Canada monthly payrolls, including the processing of the associated activities (i.e. Daily reports and wire approvals for tax payments)
- Ensure payments related to Canada province's obligations are properly approved and processed as required by the payroll provider.
- Responsible for the Banking euro currency split for Canada inbounds and in the US. End-to-end process ownership, starting from assignee questions, maintenance of the self-service home payout feature, successful and accurate transfer of assignee information into Dayforce (DF), pay instruction from Deutsche Bank (DB), and contact with DB to solve potential technical issues.
- Delivery of the DB statement report to accounting. Generation of the EUR payout split positions report for EY/Deloitte by the end of the month, as a component of the global salary statement.
- Hypo-tax initial calculations and annual hypo tax updates.
- Monitor Company notifications impacting payroll activities (i.e. garnishments, tax authorities, refund checks, etc.)
- Excecute various regular internal controls to ensure data accuracy.
- Coordinate the prompt delivery of evidence to run the payroll control set for the annual Internal Controls System (ICS) self-assessment.
- Support the Payroll Manager on specific tasks regarding the annual processing activities (e.g. Phantom Shares Program, annual bonus, merit increase, etc.)
Qualifications:
Experience:
· Minimum 5 years of experience in Payroll, Accounting, Finance, Tax.
· Working experience with US payroll taxes regulations
· Working experience with International Payroll
· Experience executing internal controls (preferred)
Education:
· Bachelor's Degree (preferrable Master's Degree) with in emphasis in:
Business Administration, Accounting/Finance/Tax.
