Corporate Finance Advisor – SCE FP&A Team
This role is located in the Treasurer’s department within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. The Corporate Finance Advisor develops and delivers financial analysis, modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic support to senior management, and leads initiatives to improve financial planning processes.
Responsibilities- Apply expertise in finance, financial analysis, financial modeling, and strategic thinking to identify and resolve complex financial issues.
- Support and lead the implementation and stabilization of SCE’s upgrade to its financial planning software, Utilities International.
- Lead short‑term and long‑term financial planning processes, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Analyze consolidated earnings and cash flow drivers.
- Lead customer rate analysis, investor disclosures, rating agency disclosures, financing and dividend requirements.
- Prepare executive‑level presentations to support management communications.
- Lead continuous improvement of processes and financial tools, and execute other ad‑hoc projects as assigned.
- Seven or more years of experience in business, corporate finance or financial planning & analysis.
- Experience communicating complex analyses and financial information to senior management.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
- Completion of the AFP FP&A Certification or CFA Program exams I, II, or III.
- Experience with regulated utility finance and accounting methodologies, including revenue requirement projections.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex financial analysis and modeling.
- Experience performing full‑cycle ad‑hoc financial analysis, gathering relevant information, and presenting findings to management.
- Building valuation, statistical, and financial models with a focus on completeness and integrity.
- Experience with VBA, SQL, Power Query, Power Pivot, or Utilities International (or similar planning and budgeting software).
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Relocation does not apply to this position.
