A leading private equity fund focused on the energy transition and infrastructure sectors is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join its investment team in Atlanta.
The Associate will play a key role across the full investment lifecycle, supporting the identification, evaluation, execution, and ongoing management of investments across the energy transition and infrastructure landscape.
This is an opportunity to join a sophisticated investment platform with significant exposure to high-growth areas of the energy transition, working closely with senior investment professionals on live transactions and portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate new investment opportunities across the energy transition and infrastructure sectors.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including project finance, LBO, operating and valuation models.
- Conduct detailed company, market, industry, and competitive analysis.
- Support due diligence processes across financial, commercial, operational, and technical work streams.
- Assist with investment committee materials, presentations, and transaction documentation.
- Support deal execution from initial opportunity through closing.
- Conduct valuation analysis and assess investment returns, including IRR and MOIC.
- Monitor portfolio company performance and assist with ongoing investment management.
- Work closely with senior investment professionals, management teams, advisors, lenders, and other transaction stakeholders.
- 2–4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Background in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or a related investing environment.
- Ideally, experience within energy transition, energy infrastructure, power, renewables, or another relevant infrastructure sector.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Ability to analyze complex investment opportunities and translate findings into clear investment recommendations.
- Strong understanding of valuation, transaction structuring, and investment returns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially minded.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a lean, fast-paced investment environment.
- Bachelor’s degree from a strong academic institution.
The ideal candidate could come from:
- Investment banking with a focus on Power, Energy, Renewables, Infrastructure, or Energy Transition.
- A private equity or infrastructure investment fund.
- Corporate development / corporate finance within an energy or infrastructure business.
- Project finance or structured finance with significant exposure to energy infrastructure.
- Direct exposure to senior investment professionals and decision-makers.
- Involvement across the full investment lifecycle.
