This role is responsible for providing product and/or processing expertise within Derivative Trading, Securities Trading, Loan Trading, Foreign Exchange or Agency Services Lines of Business within Capital Markets Operations and to be a manager of a specific function. Major responsibilities include working on and providing guidance on core operational tasks including Client On-Boarding, Trade Capture, Securities Settlement and Clearance, Payment Settlement, Confirmations, Client Support or Margin/Collateral processing.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment, multi task with strong communication skills, and to effectively work alongside and communicate with external clients as well as Technology, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Sales and Trading internal partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Process transactions as specifically required by job function and work independently to complete daily tasks within specified time parameters.
- Provides oversite to their related teams to ensure timely completion of daily work, improve processes, enhance controls, and support the roll out new support needs.
- Interact with clients, teammates from the LOB and other support teammates to process requests and resolve issues
- Ensure functional procedures and controls are being followed and maintained
- Requires a level of proficiency in specific products and technology associated with Capital Markets Operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Capital Markets experience and 1-3 years of management/lead experience (individual contributors and managers).
- Demonstrated success in providing directives to motivate teams and build relationships at different levels within the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Leadership/Project Management capabilities.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel. Knowledge of brokerage systems or operations
- Core knowledge of financial industry, products, and regulatory environment.
- 8+ years of Capital Markets Operations experience with functional knowledge of brokerage systems (e.g., Calypso, Wall Street Systems, ION FX, Bloomberg, Reuters, Finastra, 360T, ) and operational functions (e.g., settlements, collateral, confirmations, payments).
- Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, interpret, report, and communicate data effectively.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams with varying levels of operational and technical expertise.
- FINRA Series 99 and Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) and/or Series 7 preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Agentic AI solutions, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and workflow automation technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Foreign Exchange products and operations, including Spot, Forward, NDF, and FX Options trade life cycles and settlement processes.
- Experience developing, enhancing, and testing operational controls, procedures, PPMs, RCSAs, and audit or regulatory remediation activities.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Sales, and Trading partners.
- Knowledge of FX settlement infrastructure, including CLS, SWIFT messaging (MT/ISO 20022), and nostro funding and reconciliation.
- Experience managing settlement exceptions, fails, claims, and payment investigations in a time-sensitive environment.
- Experience overseeing offshore or third-party service providers, including performance metrics and quality controls.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through technology transformation and operational change.
