Position Description
Far West Federal is seeking a mission-driven and detail-oriented Contract Specialist to join our dedicated team supporting our federal client. The successful candidate will perform administrative, procurement, and compliance activities critical to the initial phases of the acquisition lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Reviewing Procurement Request (PR) packages, including the acquisition planning documents and providing advice, amendments, and recommendations on acquisition strategies.
- Coordinating edits, reviews with senior management, and the delivery of acquisitions packages for approval to the Contracting Officer.
- Initial development of Standard Form Solicitation documents with appropriate FAR, HHSAR, and agency Local Clauses and Provisions, Technical Evaluation Factors and Terms and Condition.
- Developing contract modifications to include, but limited to, the Standard Form, and other associated documentation such as Determinations and Findings and a Notice of Intent to Exercise Options)
- Drafting and reviewing pre-award documentation, including technical evaluation criteria and contract clauses. Advising senior management and/or Contracting Officers on matters pertaining to procurement actions.
- Managing post-award activities, such as options, modifications, and deliverables tracking.
- Supporting small business procurement efforts, including SBA 8(a) documentation and justification memos.
- Responding to procurement-related inquiries and providing advisory support to program offices
- Education: Bachelor's degree;
Education may be substituted with relevant professional experience - Strong working knowledge of FAR, HHSAR, and federal contract types and methods.
- Experience managing all phases of the acquisition lifecycle.
This role may necessitate travel to operational sites in various locations for the purpose of obtaining and maintaining Government provided access cards and equipment.
Eligibility RequirementsU.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust, Level V, Tier 2 clearance
Physical RequirementsThis position is primarily performed in a professional office or remote work environment and requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. The employee must be able to communicate and exchange information effectively and routinely use standard office equipment. The position may occasionally require standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting or carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds.
