About the Office

The Office of the Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts serves the citizens of Fulton County by maintaining and providing access to court and public records and by supporting court operations across Superior and Magistrate Courts. The office plays a critical role in the administration of justice and public trust, supporting judges, justice partners, attorneys, and the public through accurate recordkeeping, responsive service, and operational excellence.

Position Summary

Supervises the daily operations of an assigned court unit or court support function within the Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts. Provides leadership and oversight of staff, court operations, records management, customer service, and administrative functions to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant court processes. Promotes operational excellence by implementing policies and procedures, supporting process improvements, and ensuring high-quality service to the judiciary, attorneys, justice partners, and the public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervises assigned staff, including establishing workloads, prioritizing work assignments, evaluating performance, interpreting and enforcing policies and procedures, resolving conflicts, and administering disciplinary action as required. Recommends procedural changes and assists with the design and implementation of new policies.

Prepares memorandum and letters in communication with other employees, management, and general public. Resolves issues and complaints referred by subordinate staff. Facilitates process improvement teams. Explains court policies and procedures for implementing and enforcing laws and codes in nontechnical terms.

Approves expenditures for assigned court unit, orders or oversees the procurement of unit supplies, and assists in developing a budget for an assigned court division. Audits accounting and unit work processes and prepares reports on unit activities and related court issues.

Works to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of court practices, processes, and procedures. Advises the public, County officials, and attorneys of court and/or departmental guidelines. Implements changes in departmental operations due to changes in the law or court policy.

Additional Functions

Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in business or public administration, criminal justice, law, political science/international relations, or other liberal arts degree in a related area.
  • Two (2) years of experience in customer service, data entry, records management, administration, court/legal, law.
  • Two (2) years as a lead or supervisor in the areas of customer service, data entry, records management, administrative, or court/legal related experience.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required

Affiliation as a sworn Deputy Clerk of the Court.
