At MSM we are leading the creation and advancement of health equity. We exist to:
Improve the health and well‑being of individuals and communities;
Increase the diversity of the health professional and scientific workforce;
Address primary health care through programs in education, research, and service, with emphasis on people of color and the underserved urban and rural populations in Georgia, the nation, and the world. Morehouse School of Medicine formed a historic alliance with Common Spirit Health, the second nonprofit health system in the nation. This alliance (More In Common Alliance – MiCA) will enable the creation of health equity by expanding diversity in the healthcare workforce.

To meet that goal, Morehouse School of Medicine has doubled its class size in both the Medical School and the Physician’s Assistant program. Moreover, the partnership with Common Spirit Health allows for expansion of the MSM‑sponsored postgraduate training program to ten Common Spirit Hospitals nationwide. To fully realize all the goals of the alliance, Common Spirit Health provided $115 million over a 10‑year period.

To fully realize the goals of MICA, MSM and MICA will raise $100 million over the next ten years.
