We have a full‑time Andrology Lab Technician opening in our Sandy Springs, GA location. The schedule is daytime hours Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM with weekend and holiday rotations.
How You’ll ContributeWe always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Andrology /Endocrine Laboratory Technician is responsible for:
- Shipping, receiving and disposition of frozen samples
- Ordering and receiving lab supplies
- Examining and processing specimens for routine semen analysis
- Performing counts for concentration and motility, performing histological techniques for identifying leukocytes, immature germ cells and morphology
- Processing semen for ART procedures and intrauterine inseminations (IUIs)
- Conducting semen cryopreservation
- Assuring proper sample collection, delivery, and identification (chain of custody)
- Performing daily/monthly quality control procedures for media and equipment used in the Andrology/Endocrine laboratory
- Assisting laboratory personnel in performing lab services in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws and guidelines to ensure laboratory maintains accreditation
- Checking and recording daily temperature of refrigerators to ensure proper storage of media reagents
- Performing quality controls, calibration, and instrument preventive maintenance checks at the required frequency and documenting such actions
- Monitoring supply of reagents and other materials to ensure adequate supply at all times and ordering supplies when necessary
- B.S. in Biology or other relevant science and/or MLT/ASCP
- Minimum of one year laboratory experience
- Experience with a chemistry analyzer strongly preferred
- Tissue culture experience (sterile technique) and/or semen processing a plus
