The eCW Analyst is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and enhancing the use of the eClinical
Works (eCW) electronic health record system across the organization. This role serves as frontline support for clinical staff while driving system adoption, workflow optimization, and provider training. The eCW Analyst demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and technical expertise—particularly in eCW configuration and data mapping—while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

- Demonstrates technical expertise in eCW configuration, template design, and data mapping.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Serve as the first point of contact for clinical staff regarding eCW-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and workflow challenges onsite or remotely.
- Provide patient, empathetic, and solution-oriented support to providers and staff.
- Escalate systemic or complex issues to the Applications Manager as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of training materials, including:
- Quick Reference Guides
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Video tutorials and walkthroughs
- Continuously update materials to reflect system upgrades, workflow changes, and best practices.
- Promote system adoption and optimized usage through structured learning resources.
- Lead eCW training sessions for new providers and clinical staff.
- Ensure proficiency in documentation workflows, order entry, templates, and reporting tools.
- Provide ongoing follow-up support to ensure confidence and efficiency in system usage.
- Conduct workflow observation sessions (“at-the-elbow” support) with providers and Medical Assistants.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies, documentation challenges, and system utilization gaps.
- Deliver real-time coaching and practical recommendations to improve productivity and user experience.
- Act as the voice of the user by collecting feedback from clinic staff.
- Identify recurring issues and trends impacting workflow or patient care.
- Collaborate with the Applications Manager to recommend system enhancements and configuration improvements.
- Assist with testing, implementation, and validation of system updates or workflow changes.
- Configure eCW templates, order sets, and workflows to align with clinical and operational needs.
- Perform data mapping and ensure integrity of clinical and operational data.
- Support upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations and changes.
- 2–4 years of experience supporting eClinical
Works (eCW) or similar EHR system required. - Experience in healthcare operations or clinical workflow support strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of clinical documentation workflows and healthcare operations.
- Advanced knowledge of eCW configuration and data mapping.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train and present information clearly to clinical staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
