Job SummaryProvide patient-centered, outcome-oriented pharmacy practice by working in concert with the patient and other Health Services clinicians to promote good health and prevent disease.
This position works on an as needed basis and is non-benefited.
Temporary employees are employed according to departmental need and the length of time will vary by workload and may not exceed 1300 hours worked in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities- Fill and dispense prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications and administer vaccines to patients following Board of Pharmacy, DEA, and Health Services policies and procedures.
- Fulfill all requirements to keep the pharmacy registered with the State of Georgia Board of Pharmacy and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.
- Collaborate with the physicians, nurse practitioners, and patients as needed to establish therapeutic objectives; recommend and advise on appropriate drug entities, dosages, and dosage schedules; assist in selecting dosage forms, routes, and methods.
- Counsel students as to the contra-indications, adverse reactions, and precautions specific to their medications.
- Supervise Pharmacy Technician, student employees, and the entire pharmacy operation in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.

- Pharmacy License through the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy
- One (1) or more years of related work experience

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

- Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
- Must have extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical practices and procedures and knowledge of prescribing and dispensing laws in the State of Georgia
- Must have knowledge and experience with pharmacy information system software.
- Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
