Department Information

Stamps Health Services is an outpatient ambulatory care center that provides health care and health education to students and their spouses/domestic partners. The center is located in a state-of-the-art, 40,000-square-foot facility within the Joseph Brown Whitehead Building, next to our Campus Recreation Center. Stamps Health Services provides care in six areas:
Primary care, women's health, Psychiatry, Travel/Immunization/Allergy, Pharmacy, and Diagnostic Services (lab and radiology).

Job Summary

Perform phlebotomy and other simple procedures under the direction of licensed staff within Stamps Health Services (SHS), in accordance with SHS, Institute and state/federal regulatory requirements. This position will interact on a regular basis with: staff, students and visitors. This position typically will advise and counsel: staff, students and visitors. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities
  • Job Duty 1 - Collect blood samples from patients for lab processing
  • Job Duty 2 - Track, order, and maintain inventory of specimen collection equipment
  • Job Duty 3 - Perform simple laboratory testing
  • Job Duty 4 - Provide supporting clerical functions as needed to facilitate patient flow
  • Job Duty 5 - Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Educational Requirements:
    Technical Diploma, Associate Degree, or two years college coursework or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Other Required Qualifications:
    Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certified
  • Required Experience:
    Two to three years of job related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Preferred Qualifications:
    Certified Medical Assistant and/or Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS:

Basic office skills and ability to work in a team environment
