Department Information
Stamps Health Services is an outpatient ambulatory care center that provides health care and health education to students and their spouses/domestic partners. The center is located in a state-of-the-art, 40,000-square-foot facility within the Joseph Brown Whitehead Building, next to our Campus Recreation Center. Stamps Health Services provides care in six areas:
Primary care, women's health, Psychiatry, Travel/Immunization/Allergy, Pharmacy, and Diagnostic Services (lab and radiology).
Perform phlebotomy and other simple procedures under the direction of licensed staff within Stamps Health Services (SHS), in accordance with SHS, Institute and state/federal regulatory requirements. This position will interact on a regular basis with: staff, students and visitors. This position typically will advise and counsel: staff, students and visitors. This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities- Job Duty 1 - Collect blood samples from patients for lab processing
- Job Duty 2 - Track, order, and maintain inventory of specimen collection equipment
- Job Duty 3 - Perform simple laboratory testing
- Job Duty 4 - Provide supporting clerical functions as needed to facilitate patient flow
- Job Duty 5 - Perform other duties as assigned
- Educational Requirements:
Technical Diploma, Associate Degree, or two years college coursework or equivalent combination of education and experience - Other Required Qualifications:
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certified - Required Experience:
Two to three years of job related experience
- Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant and/or Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency
SKILLS:
Basic office skills and ability to work in a team environment
