Overview
Negotiate Contracts. Support Operations. Ensure Compliance.
As a Contract Specialist, You Will:
- Prepare, review, and negotiate agreements with contracting agencies, payors, and other healthcare partners.
- Consult frequently with operations and other departments during the contract preparation process.
- Gather and analyze information and data from branch personnel, regulatory departments, contracting agencies, and other sources to support projects.
- Provide input to field management to assess operational and financial feasibility of agreements.
- Develop original contracts, letters, and other documents to support business objectives.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of information into the department database and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Interact with internal customers and other departments (Risk Management, Clinical Services, Law, Regulatory) with a high level of professionalism and responsiveness.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications – What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum 2 years of experience drafting and negotiating contracts in a healthcare setting
- Experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work cohesively with a team, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with payor contracts and credentialing processes
- Knowledge of current and legally binding contractual language and terminology
- Ability to identify, analyze, and propose solutions for problems
- Knowledge of negotiation best practices
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Paralegal certificate
- Prior experience in healthcare contract management
