The Medical Receptionist is responsible for front‑desk operations of a healthcare facility. The role involves greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling inquiries, and maintaining patient records. The Medical Receptionist ensures a smooth and welcoming experience for patients and supports the medical team with various administrative tasks, typically working on routine and patterned assignments.

Responsibilities
  • Greeting patients and visitors professionally, in person and over the phone
  • Managing appointment calendars and coordinating with medical staff
  • Maintaining and updating patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in EMR and CRM systems
  • Ensuring patient accounts are up to date, including collecting copays at time of visit
  • Answering incoming calls, responding to patient inquiries, and providing general information
  • Keeping the reception area tidy, sanitized, and well stocked
  • Assisting with additional administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, managing office inventory, and sending courier packages
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year or more of experience working in a healthcare setting preferred, or strong customer‑service background in retail, hospitality, call centers, etc.
  • Passion for contributing to continuous patient experience improvement
  • Excellent customer service and phone etiquette skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with value‑based care models
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with EMR systems (Electronic Medical Records)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
