The Medical Receptionist is responsible for front‑desk operations of a healthcare facility. The role involves greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling inquiries, and maintaining patient records. The Medical Receptionist ensures a smooth and welcoming experience for patients and supports the medical team with various administrative tasks, typically working on routine and patterned assignments.
Responsibilities- Greeting patients and visitors professionally, in person and over the phone
- Managing appointment calendars and coordinating with medical staff
- Maintaining and updating patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in EMR and CRM systems
- Ensuring patient accounts are up to date, including collecting copays at time of visit
- Answering incoming calls, responding to patient inquiries, and providing general information
- Keeping the reception area tidy, sanitized, and well stocked
- Assisting with additional administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, managing office inventory, and sending courier packages
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year or more of experience working in a healthcare setting preferred, or strong customer‑service background in retail, hospitality, call centers, etc.
- Passion for contributing to continuous patient experience improvement
- Excellent customer service and phone etiquette skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
- Experience with value‑based care models
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with EMR systems (Electronic Medical Records)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
