WhatYou'll Do
- Prioritize and schedule referrals based on urgency, ensuring timely follow‑up and seamless handoffs to specialists and providers
- Accurately collect and enter demographic, insurance, and clinical information into the EMR to support referral processes
- Verify insurance benefits, contact payers for pre‑authorization, and communicate clinical details when necessary to establish medical necessity
- Explain referral expectations, co‑pays, or deductibles, and answer questions to ensure patients are informed and prepared
- Build strong relationships with referral offices, community providers, and internal teams to support smooth transitions of care
- Serve as a go‑to contact for staff regarding authorizations, procedural codes, and insurance requirements
- Are highly organized and thrives on coordination and accuracy
- Understand insurance plans and authorization requirements
- Communicates clearly, compassionately, and professionally
- Love helping patients feel informed, supported, and confident
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office or clinical environment
- Knowledge of insurance plans and verification procedures
- Customer service experience in a patient‑facing role
- Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred)
- Experience using Epic EMR system (preferred)
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Discretion and professionalism in handling patient information
- Play a vital role in helping patients access timely, appropriate care
- Work in a mission‑driven, team‑oriented clinical environment
