To ensure that Sterile Processing technicians at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital are properly trained and operating within the guidelines set forth by various industry standards and regulations including, but not limited to IAHCSMM, CBSPD, AAMI, AORN, OSHA, and accrediting bodies. Performs various other training duties related to instrument processing as necessary.
Qualifications Education- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- Completion of an accredited sterile processing or surgical technology course. Online programs that do not offer hands on instruction or experience will not be accepted Required
- 5 years experience of active work within the sterile processing department, as a Technician, Coordinator or Lead Required
- Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician from one of the two certification boards (IAHCSMM or CSPD) Required
- Certification of an instrument specialist within (1) year of employment Required
