Job SummaryThe Mental Health Technician I (MHT I) provides services to people who experience serious mental illness. This includes providing group and or individual training on a variety of topics including social, coping skills, and self-management. Provides support to patients/consumers to keep appointments that meet the needs of the individual patient/consumer and engages in crisis prevention and management as necessary. MHT I may work in the hospital, outpatient clinic, or community settings, including support provided in the home, at work/school, or in shelters.
QUALIFICATIONS- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two (2) years of work experience (related or non-related) and one (1) year of experience with the SPMI and/or Addictive Disease population or CPRP preferably in a full time status is required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Services will be accepted in lieu of experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required.
