Job Summary

The Anesthesia Technician is a member of the Anesthesia care team. In this role, they contribute to safe efficient and cost-effective anesthesia care. The Anesthesia Technologist provides technical and clinical support in anesthesia for routine and complex surgical cases. These types of cases include all General anesthetic cases as well as cardiac procedures. The Anesthesia Technician provides technical and clinical support by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia.

They also assist the licensed anesthesia provider with the insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines, and airway management. They assist the anesthesia team by preparing central lines, Swan Ganz catheters, etc. while maintaining sterile technique. Prepares I.V. fluids, invasive line pressure transducers for use during the anesthetizing procedure. Sets up, calibrates, prepares and maintains anesthesia equipment used during the anesthetizing procedure.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Two (2) or more years Anesthesia experience
  • CPR/BLS required or 30 days upon hire
  • N95 Respirator Fit test required or upon hire
  • Participation in Call rotation with a 45min response time
