Utilization Review (UR) Coordinator – PRN (Weekend Coverage)
Peachford Hospital is a 246‑bed acute care psychiatric hospital located in Dunwoody. We provide inpatient care for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, in addition to partial hospitalization and other outpatient programs. Peachford has been providing compassionate care since 1973 and nearly 10,000 patients receive treatment here every year.
We are currently searching for an experienced UR Coordinator to work PRN on the weekends to ensure the hospital provides full coverage for our patients.
UR Coordinators proactively monitor the utilization of continuum services and optimize reimbursement. Having an understanding and an ability to communicate insurance information to others, including benefits coverage and levels of care offered, will help you be successful in this role.
What Will You Get To Do?- Work directly with Assessment and Referral Services to stay abreast of admissions and/or pending authorizations/pre‑certifications.
- Conduct concurrent and extended stay reviews on appropriate day and/or specified time.
- Prepare and submit appeals to third‑party payors, effectively coordinating collection of all pertinent data to support the hospital and patient’s position.
- Communicate pertinent third‑party payor issues to doctor and treatment team.
- Work independently in gathering information for reviews from the patient record, taking the initiative to seek information from members of the treatment team.
What Does Peachford Require for this Role?
A bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required and previous inpatient/outpatient hospital experience is preferred. One year of prior healthcare, social services, mental health or addictive disease experience is also preferred.
