Position SummaryFEHE Enterprises, Inc. is seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in our residential homes.
As a DSP, you will assist individuals with daily living activities, encourage independence and meaningful choice, maintain health and safety, support community participation, and help create a comfortable, respectful, and home-like environment. This position requires reliable attendance, accurate documentation, flexibility, and the ability to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide person-centered assistance based on each individual's service plan, behavior support plan, healthcare plan, safety plan, and other authorized protocols.
- Assist with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, positioning, feeding, communication, and other activities of daily living.
- Promote independence, personal choice, skill development, self-advocacy, relationships, and meaningful community participation.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and supportive home environment.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to individual preferences, prescribed diets, allergy precautions, texture requirements, and food-safety standards.
- Complete assigned household responsibilities, including laundry, bed-making, kitchen sanitation, and general cleaning.
- Observe and report changes in an individual's physical health, behavior, appearance, mobility, appetite, sleep, or overall functioning to the appropriate FEHE supervisor or program leader.
- Administer or assist with medications only when properly trained and authorized, following all medication-administration and documentation requirements.
- Support medical, dental, behavioral health, and other scheduled appointments, including transportation and required follow-up.
- Complete required documentation in Therap, including service notes, goal tracking, medication records, behavior data, community participation records, and shift notes.
- Document services and observations factually, accurately, and within required time frames.
- Support individuals with shopping, recreation, employment, religious activities, family visits, medical appointments, and other approved community activities.
- Complete vehicle and passenger-safety checks and properly use seatbelts, mobility equipment, adaptive devices, and other required safety equipment.
- Follow all FEHE, DBHDD, DCH, and applicable regulatory health, safety, confidentiality, individual-rights, and mandatory-reporting requirements.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, injuries, medication concerns, missing-person events, and suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
- Complete required safety drills, including fire and emergency-evacuation drills, and report safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain required staffing coverage and remain at the assigned worksite until properly relieved or directed by a supervisor.
- Complete all required training, including CPR, First Aid, crisis-prevention, medication, infection-control, transportation, and other assigned courses.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- At least six months of relevant direct-care, healthcare, residential, behavioral health, or related experience.
