Position: Banquet Server (On-Call)
Position Summary

The On-Call Banquet Server for the Kimpton Overland Hotel Atlanta is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service during meetings, banquets, weddings, conferences, and other special events. This position assists with event setup and breakdown and ensures that guests receive professional, attentive, and friendly service throughout each event.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up banquet rooms, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and other event equipment according to event specifications.
  • Provide courteous, efficient, and professional service to guests throughout the event.
  • Serve food and beverages according to hotel standards and event requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, beverages, and event details.
  • Replenish food, beverages, and service items as needed.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly and maintain cleanliness of banquet areas.
  • Assist with buffet setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Assist with the setup, breakdown, and storage of banquet equipment.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns.
  • Work closely with the Banquet Captain, Banquet Manager, culinary team, and other hotel departments to ensure successful events.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance at all times.
  • Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous banquet, restaurant, catering, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Previous hotel banquet experience is a plus.
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be dependable and able to report to scheduled events on time.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull banquet equipment and supplies as required.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. The employee may be required to lift and/or carry banquet supplies and equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
