We are seeking a strategic yet hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead our HR functions across multiple offices. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to firm leadership while directly managing the day-to-day execution of recruitment, payroll, benefits, and employee relations in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Talent Acquisition: Lead full-cycle recruitment for specialized roles, including paralegals and administrative staff. Develop sourcing strategies, manage the interview process, and oversee onboarding and orientation.
- Payroll & Benefits Administration: Manage firm-wide payroll processing and the administration of health, dental, and retirement plans. Serve as the primary liaison with benefit vendors and lead the annual open enrollment process.
- Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure strict adherence to Georgia and federal labor laws, including FMLA, FLSA, EEO, and ADA. Maintain and update the employee handbook and firm policies to reflect current legal standards.
- Employee Relations & Culture: Act as a mediator and coach for staff and leadership to resolve conflicts and improve performance. Implement initiatives focused on retention, engagement, and professional development.
- Operations & Infrastructure: Architect and modernize HR infrastructure, including HRIS management and internal reporting for senior leadership.
- Experience: 7–10+ years of progressive HR management experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or HR is required; an MBA is strongly preferred.
- Certifications:
SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) or SHRM-SCP is highly desirable. A CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) is a plus. - Knowledge:
Deep expertise in Georgia employment law and federal regulatory compliance.
- Ability to scale HR operations in a growing firm.
- Discretion and high ethical standards when handling confidential legal personnel matters.
- Strong communication skills to interface effectively with trial attorneys and executive partners.
