Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are seeking a Director of People & Culture who is passionate about people, workplace experience, and building an environment where team members can thrive. This person will be the culture champion—shaping the colleague journey from first interview to long-term career growth.
This role has direct ownership of four critical areas:
Talent Acquisition (getting the right people in the right seats), Talent Management (helping them grow, perform, and lead), Engagement & Culture (fostering connection, belonging, and employee voice), and Total Rewards (ensuring they feel recognized, supported, and fairly rewarded).
Strategic Focus Areas
- Lead with a people-first mindset, making culture, engagement, and inclusion central to every decision.
- Build and execute a Talent Acquisition strategy that attracts top talent across multiple locations and roles—hourly, field-based, and corporate.
- Implement department-level people strategies; provide feedback to leadership on feasibility, impact, and alignment with company goals.
- Design and oversee a modern Total Rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits, recognition programs, and incentives that are competitive and aligned with company values.
- Lead and manage the People & Culture budget, including Learning & Development and Recruitment allocations.
- Partner with leaders on team restructuring, role design, and change logistics to ensure smooth transitions and clarity of responsibilities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and colleagues, helping navigate change, growth, and everyday challenges.
What You’ll Do
- Build and continuously improve processes that make candidates feel welcome, informed, and excited to join.
- Oversee full-cycle recruiting, agency relationships, interview training, onboarding, and 30/60/90-day check-ins.
- Develop and implement programs for goal setting, feedback, performance management, career development, and leadership pathways.
- Manage performance improvement plans, investigations, and conflict resolution while coaching managers on effective, compliant leadership practices.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives that enhance connection and belonging across the company.
- Oversee Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), culture committees, and company-wide events like team-building activities, holiday celebrations, and mental health workshops.
- Administer engagement surveys, facilitate focus groups, and translate insights into meaningful action plans.
- Manage recognition and communication programs including peer-to-peer platforms, Employee of the Month, newsletters, Slack updates, and the HR intranet.
- Foster ongoing two-way communication that amplifies employee voice and celebrates wins.
- Direct payroll queries, calibrate merit increases with managers, and ensure pay decisions align with policy and performance outcomes.
- Collaborate on return-to-work plans and accommodations in partnership with managers and benefits leads.
- Maintain equitable, compliant people policies and accurate reporting (EEO-1, labor law postings, harassment training).
- Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and performance processes to ensure they are efficient, compliant, and colleague-friendly.
- Use people data to drive informed decisions on retention, engagement, and development.
Who You Are
- 5–7 years of successful people/HR leadership experience as a senior manager or director.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; HR certifications (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) a plus.
- Experience supporting both office and field teams in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
- Proven success leading Talent Acquisition, Engagement & Culture, and Total Rewards programs to scale a growing business.
- A visible, empathetic leader who values feedback, community, and collaboration.
- Known as a trusted advisor and coach who builds strong, genuine relationships.
- Skilled in HRIS systems, people metrics, and modern workplace tools.
Why This Role
- Play a central role in shaping a people-first culture in a stable, growing company.
- Own and elevate Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Engagement & Culture, and Total Rewards as strategic levers for success.
- Join a team that values honesty, collaboration, and a sense of humor.
- Make a real impact on the daily experience, growth, and success of every team member.
