The Payroll Associate is responsible for payroll processing, analyzing payroll data reports, verifying employee pay data information, calculating pay, entering pay data information, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of employee compensation.
Responsibilities- Consistently and accurately process payroll for a minimum of 1500+ employees (high volume)
- Analyze and review payroll reports for employee related changes
- Extract hours and audit timesheets to ensure hours worked are paid
- Manage garnishments, direct deposit, and other payroll deductions
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Respond to employees regarding payroll inquiries
- Audit payroll data and complete a peer review prior to payroll close
- Fulfill VOE requests as needed
- Maintain confidentiality
- Partner with HR & People Operations to ensure accuracy of employee records
- Research, analyze, and resolve discrepancies; escalating to management as needed
- Manage multiple intake channels (two or more mailboxes)
- Mail sorting and distribution in local office
- 5+ years of experience working in payroll
- Experience working in multi‑state payroll
- Working knowledge of tax codes and regulations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Detail oriented, professional attitude and reliable
- Strong analytical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks
- Experience with ADP EV6, Workday, Workforce & SAP
- Proficiency in full Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Confident written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with employees and team members in a professional manner
- Maintain knowledge of federal, state and local payroll regulations
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask
The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job‑related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. $35,000—$75,000 USD
