SOC Analyst

Location: Atlanta, GA — Hybrid (On-site 1–2 days/week)

Overview

A government organization is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to support its mission of protecting public-sector systems, data, and infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact by contributing to the security and resilience of services that affect communities across Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, assess, and respond to cybersecurity alerts and incidents using Splunk and other SIEM tools
• Investigate and document malicious activity, vulnerabilities, and intrusions
• Assist with threat hunting and proactive defense strategies across IT environments
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify and address security gaps
• Conduct Safeguard reviews of third-party vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with security standards
• Stay up to date with evolving cyber threats and mitigation strategies

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in SOC operations or a related cybersecurity role
• Hands-on expertise with Splunk and familiarity with additional SIEM platforms
• Strong foundational knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence
• Understanding of security compliance frameworks such as NIST or ISO
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Must reside in the Atlanta metro area and be available for on-site work 1–2 days per week

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting government or critical infrastructure systems
• Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or similar credentials
