Data Engineering Instructor

Overview

This role is for a Data Engineering Instructor in Atlanta, Georgia, with a 4-month contract at $60/hour. Key skills include SQL, Python, Unix/Linux, and experience with data processing pipelines. A bachelorachelor's degree and 1-3 years of teaching experience are required.

Location:

Atlanta, GA 30303 | On-site | Duration: 4 months (16 weeks+)

Compensation: 60$/hour

• Support instructor-led training that prepares students for entry-level to mid-level careers in Data Engineering.
• Conduct daily instruction, assessment administration, attendance tracking, one-on-one tutoring, and daily evaluation and monitoring of student progress.
• Address student violations consistently and provide access to resources for outside learning on technologies and study aids relevant to the curriculum.
• Collaborate with the team to identify student needs, establish individualized plans for achievement, and participate in regular student-status meetings.
• Maintain and update Salesforce and/or our LMS with student grades, certification scores, and progress notes.
• Support and maintain training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and other classroom materials.

• 1-3 years of teaching or training experience; strong instructional skills and ability to convey technical subject matter clearly.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux command line navigation and basic shell scripting.
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases, SQL programming, and database design principles.
• Excellent Python and SQL development, debugging, and data modeling skills.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization using Python packages (e.g., Num Py, Pandas, Matplotlib).
• Experience setting up new data sources, migrating data, and establishing ETL/ELT processes using industry-recognized technologies.
• Experience with Data Warehousing, Data Mart, and Big Data platforms;
  Apache Spark and Spark SQL.
• Experience with Docker; version control (Git); CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage via live digital conversations or in-person training.
• Proficiency with enterprise BI tools (Power BI or Tableau).
• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., LLMs, Git Hub Copilot, ChatGPT) for code generation and debugging.
• Ability to integrate AI-driven workflows into technical troubleshooting and practice exercises.

• Experience with Hadoop and similar frameworks;
  Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies (e.g., Redshift, Athena, Quick Sight, MSK).
• Familiarity with Coursera platform or similar learning management systems is a plus.

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical/industry experience).
• Strong technical aptitude with tools like Google Sheets/Excel, Slides/PowerPoint, Salesforce, Slack, Zoom; strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written communication, presentation, and customer service skills; solid understanding of business needs.
• Strong evaluation and data management skills.
• Prior IT background and a passion for technology are pluses.
