We are looking for a Data Evaluation & Enablement Lead with strong patient data expertise who is operationally driven
, analytical and passionate to join us in our Global Data Acquisition and Advanced Analytics team
. This position can be based in our Atlanta, Georgia
, Raleigh, North Carolina
, or Boston, Massachusetts
. This hybrid role (at least 40% of the time in office) is limited to 10% travel domestically.

About the role

You will help strengthen UCB's data acquisition strategy to meet the evolving data needs of our therapeutic areas and patient populations. You will build fluency across different types of high quality healthcare data, support scalable data platforms and enhance cross-functional efficiency by enabling stronger data usage and insight sharing across the enterprise. You will serve as a strategic partner to patient data users, ensuring data is high quality, well understood, and fit-for-purpose.

You'll also lead profiling, assessment, curation, and analytical exploration of patient-level datasets across the product lifecycle as well as curate and transform data to accelerate insights and improve patient outcomes.

Who you'll work with

You will collaborate globally with stakeholders across Data Acquisition, Integrated Insights, Digital Technology/IT, RWE, Advanced Analytics, Medical/HEOR, Translational Medicine, New Product Planning, and Commercial teams—supported by contractors—to ensure data suitability for each use case.

What you'll do

You will be responsible for driving significant business impact through ensuring we deeply understand the data we acquire, and we use it appropriately for data-driven decision making. In this role, you will:

  • Profile and assess patient-level data for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and suitability for intended use cases.
  • Identify gaps and recommend remediation or additional data sources.
  • Review data for accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Translate stakeholder questions into targeted data mining and exploratory analysis to deliver actionable insights.
  • Extract and analyze cohorts, patterns, and trends tailored to research, commercial, or operational needs.
  • Evaluate data fitness for specific use cases and advise on additional requirements helping the data user community to use the right data for their questions.
  • Apply expertise in real-world data (claims, labs, unstructured data) to support advanced analytics.
  • Mentor deeper expertise across UCB's patient data community.
  • Foster strong relationships and collaboration with data acquisition colleagues, IT, the Data Office, Compliance and other analytics and business teams to enable the utilization of data assets.
  • Ideate and partner with digital technology teams to improve analytics interfaces and data usability.
Education, experience and skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative area
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in analyzing open and closed claims data, EHR, and other patient-level data
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working with various forms of patient-level pharmaceutical data
  • Experience with SQL, R, Python, and other programming languages

Preferred

  • Master/Doctor's degree in a quantitative area
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient
  • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Deep expertise in healthcare data, particularly U.S. and ex-U.S. patient-level claims data
  • Strong ability to translate diverse patient data questions into analytical approaches
  • Creativity in integrating disparate datasets to solve complex business problems
  • Agile, test-and-learn mindset
  • Skilled at tailoring communication to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Creative problem-solving mindset to overcome technical and organizational roadblocks
  • Service-oriented and results-driven, with strong motivation to deliver meaningful impact
  • Familiarity with data quality techniques
Compensation
